Train Stations
Westport is only 65 minutes by train for the many professionals who
commute to New York City. The Metro-North Railroad is located at 1
Railroad Place and operated by Norwalk Transit Westport, who can be
reached at 203-852-0000. Trains run on a frequent schedule during peak

Parking at the station is handled by the Westport Police Department,
for further information call 203-341-6052. Commuter Bus services are
also available for residents of Westport. Further information can be

Education
Westport school system is highly rated and provides three elementary
schools, two middle schools and one expansive high school. Students
with special education needs can receive assistance through three
different programs in all schools. There is also a wide variety of
private schools for children of all ages and nursery schools (both
private and church sponsored) available for pre-schoolers.
Parks and Recreational Facilities
Westport features over 210 acres of recreational facilities. This
wonderfully broad selection of choices includes three town beaches,
two marinas, three pools and an 18-hole golf course along the Westport
shoreline. Westport residents that play tennis are able to take
advantage of playing on fourteen clay courts and ten all-weather
courts. The Westport Parks and Recreation Department provides a Beach
School at Compo Beach with many varied recreational activities for
children of all ages. They also run two summer camps available for

Compo Beach - The towns largest beach with many picnic tables and cooking grills; extensive playground area and marina.
Longshore Country Club - Waterfront facility for town residents with beach swimming, pools, 18-hole golf course, tennis courts, boating facilities, playground, Ice skating rink and special programs.
Levitt Pavilion for Performing Arts - Outdoor venue presenting over 50 nights of entertainment free to the public.
Earthplace - 62-acre sanctuary with trails, museum and nature science exhibits and aquarium.
Rolnick Observatory - Wednesday and Thursday evenings open free to the public, weather permitting.
Sherwood Island Park - 274 acres with a mile-and-a-half long beach; two large picnic groves. Swimming, fishing, field sports, picnicking, concessions.
Winslow Park - 19.5 acre site in a natural state.
